D.A. Fisher Biography

D. A. Fisher was a landscape painter from Portland, Maine. He specialized in seascapes and landscapes. While he never assumed official membership, Fisher associated with the Brushians. The Brushians were a group of Maine artists originally started by George Morse and fellow artists around 1860. Some of the members are not well-known, but their work is historically significant because of the images they left of the Portland area and along the coast.
Fisher’s work is included in Falk’s Who Was Who in American Art and The Brushians, by Elaine Ward Casazza, 1996.
